Having just sold my camry I found this great auto art site really interesting: BJ's Auto Art I remember I bought the camry hoping to curb my 'need' to modify whatever car I owned. For me, cars were as much a toy as a means of transport. I bought the camry hoping it would be so boring that I wouldnt want to touch it, and despite the fact that it turned out to be one of the best (if not the best) car i've ever owned, it served it's purpose beautifully. Now I can see that perhaps the same has not worked for everybody! BJ has drawn somebody's camry and it's displayed along with many more of his incredible drawings in his gallery.
A fantastic online sign maker we'll use ourselves!
Every
now and then we deal with a startup business who's website will be the
main tool in them reaching their customers. Sometimes it's because the
website allows people to see the products, or perhaps even buy them
online. Few, if any, businesses allow their customers to design their
own unique product right there on the website. That's what we've been
working on lately and it's called 'Read The Sign'.
It's been a massive few months for ITRiver. My great mate Kevin Miller has joined the team and is now my business partner. I felt ITRiver could offer better and more varied I.T. services if I increased my capacity, and it allowed me to be in a better position to take opportunities as they arose and in that regard, we've wasted no time. ITRiver aquired Rory Chapman's RCIMS in December and since that time have been flat out getting familiar with our new clients and their I.T. setups. We have added a large number of products to our portfolio and increased and improved many others.
We certainly hope our new clients are as happy with the new setup as we are. By moving those clients who used RCIMS backup service to our specialised backup service, QVAULT, we've reduced their time to recovery and increased the reliability of their backup service, and we've really enjoyed meeting all these new people.
Some of our web design clients will have noticed we've been a little behind schedule because of all the changes in the business, but thankfully we're all caught up again now. We've really had to turn away new web work, because we couldnt justify taking on new work while we were behind on our existing work. Let's hope we can get back in shape and start fulfilling the recent surge in demand for our web design services - we're now finally looking at jobs for a few large local identities and even a business in New Zealand!
So yes, I've been slack on the blog, but it's been mainly because I was busy making sure the ITRiver family of businesses were receiving top notch IT - always our first priority!

Grafton Web Design
Wed 29th Oct '08
I've been doing web design in Grafton for 2 years now, and I am starting to realise just how diverse the client base is. I've done websites for people who don't have a computer, and for businesses that have all their internal machines using the website constantly. There are some who have the knowledge to do it themselves if they had the time, and those who didn't know what the address bar is in their browser, and use their default home page's search facility to find everything. Where I usually target the kinds of client who need their website to actually do something (like content management, stock control, and searchable items) I am increasingly being sought out by people wanting 'just the basics'. You know, a logo, a bit of a spiel and some pictures. It's not my usual gig but I'm starting to realise how much less stress there is associated with this kind of website. The brief rarely changes from the original halfway through development, for example. More complex jobs, my usual gig, tend to have quickly moving goalposts!

By the way I apologise for all older posts having no (or limited) formatting, like paragraphs etc. This was a side-effect of the way I migrated from wordpress.
