Baby - It's 3am I must be lonely
Sat 11th Mar '06
For the second time this week I have had to get out of bed because one of my servers detected a problem on the Telstra CDMA and GPRS Networks at 2:40 in the morning. Even though I have the server configured to only tell me if the outage exceeds 3 hours, it seems that I know about these things before Telstra do. So here I am at 3am waiting for Telstra to get our GPS tracking systems an internet connection instead of in bed dreaming about Tracy. Nice.
At least it's an excuse to blog, though. You want the good news or the bad news first? Let's start with bad.
Bad news:
- Telstra don't pay me to detect this shit for them or for my time while they fix it
- I have to get out of bed at 4:30am on Monday to go to Port Macquarie to work.
- Finally had to replace my washing machine which I damaged during a house move a few years ago. It caught fire (only minor). Bye Bye more $$$, oh my poor solicitor will starve!
Good news:
- Tracy will be here this weekend, AND next weekend. YAY!
- Rebecca and I are getting along well. Her new boyfriend has made a big difference, he's a nice guy. I told her nice guys would come out of the woodwork if she got rid of that Paul loser. And I do enjoy being right from time to time...
- Dylan is going very well at school. And he can tie his own shoelaces, too. I cant remember if I could at kindergarten age.
- I have another Karate grading approaching. It is pretty soon and I will have to work very hard if I hope to learn all I need to know in time. But I'm looking forward to it!
- We have hired a new guy at work, Rodney, an electronics engineer. He's gonna make my life way easier. I also think he and I will be great mates, plus his wife Amber went to school with Tracy and I so thats cool.
- Even though I start early on Monday, I finish early too, so I can spend the afternoon with Tracy.
Way more good news than bad - so that's good, isn't it?
I might see if Tracy and I can do some photography this weekend, we haven't in a while.
Big congrats to Mark and Katrina on their marriage. We love you guys.
