Part 1 - The Quest for the Princess
Once Upon A Time, in a land resplendent in purple jacarandas, there lived a young hobbit named Russ. Russ was quite taken with a pretty princess who lived in the land of Brisbane.
Months went by with the young hobbit and his trusty camry making the perilous journey between his home and the big city. Sometimes the Princess would make the journey, in her pulsar chariot, to visit with the hobbit in his bungalow among the jacaranda trees. Together they encountered driving rains, oncoming traffic on one lane bridges, a road known for lions and attack ninja cows, and even red traffic lights. But his love was true and after a year Russ climbed to the top of the very perilous Mt Warning to ask the Gods (and his princess) to marry him. She said yes and Russ told the Gods to get stuffed. The gods were displeased but alas the quest for the Ring began.
Part 2 - The quest for the Ring
Russ, using the best weapons he had at his disposal, his trusty Pentium 4 and a broadband connection, and his sidekick, who was known as Celeron, travelled far and wide, along spam filled, virus laden superhighways in search of his Holy Grail. Not even the most persistent popup ads could do more than slow his progress.
After a month, there was another month. After that month, one more month passed. And the number of months that passed were three. That includes the aformentioned months. It is written that three (3) months is the time which passed. But the Ring had eluded our not-quite-as-young warrior, who was now somewhat older than when he started his quest. Just when it seemed the Ring was so elusive that it could not be found, the clouds parted and the sound of choir voices rang through the 5.1 channel speakers in his study.

Here was the One Ring he had sought. Much discussion was made between the warrior and his princess, and the mysterious merchant of fine Gems and Jewellery he had found. Alas, the saga was only just beginning.
Part 3 - The scrolls of deceit
After the exchange of a sum of gold coins, the Merchant promised to deliver the Ring in a timely fashion, before St Valentines day. And the Merchant was true to his word. For one week, they drank wine, and it was good.
But then the keen eyes of our warrior and his Princess saw in the Ring, beyond the sparkle of the certified GIA diamond, an impurity of man made origin. You see, the merchant had provided scrolls which verified the stone in the Ring, but the scrolls did not appear to be genuine. It would seem the angry Gods had got their revenge on Russ.
The princess and her prince sought the expert opinion of a Gem Valuer who looked upon the stone. The valuer looked upon the scrolls. The valuer looked thrice upon the stone and the scrolls. Three times, the valuer looked upon the stone, and the scrolls. Thrice. Then the valuer sayeth unto Russ, this be a grand diamond, my liege, but this be not the scrolls which describe this stone! Shocked, the valuer and the hobbit, who was by now a warrior, soon to be a prince, and a little pissed off, sought the merchant's telephone number.
Part 4 - The princess with no Ring
The merchant, who agreed that there may be an inaccuracy in the scrolls, requested that he make good the scrolls for the stone. To do so he would need to gaze upon the diamond and the Ring. The merchant would have a jeweller carefully prize the jewel from the Ring. The GIA laboritory in the mystical faraway land of California would need to gaze upon the stone, and the scrolls. And the merchant, the valuer and the hobbit-warrior-prince-(soon) who was calming down agreed. So the stone and the Ring were carefully packaged and sent by a trustworthy messenger back to the merchant. And the princess was sad to see her ring finger no longer bore the prize jewel she had enjoyed for only a week.
