About Me

Greetings, Earthlings. Welcome to my Blog. I'm Russell English, a web developer from Grafton, NSW, on Australia's east coast. My business, ITRiver, combines web design with other web and I.T. related services. About me: (last updated 23/05/2008, not always up to date!) Kids: Dylan and Isabelle (see the gallery) Married: Once before, and now married to Tracy since September '07 Interests: Music (play guitar), Computers, Beach, Bushwalking Computers: Among others... a Core2Duo E6750 with 2Gb DDR2 800Mhz on a Gigabyte MB with P35 chipset, and a NVidia 8600GTS with passive cooling. This system runs Ubuntu 7.10 and has dual 19in TFT screens. Also a 2.8Ghz P4 also running Ubuntu Linux. Had a 21inch Flat Compaq P1220 CRT monitor (ahhh it died!), and Tracy's 2Ghz P4 running Windows XP. Really, my computer collection is getting out of hand as there are many others, although notably still no laptop. I had a UMPC for a while but not any more. I run a virtual copy of Windows XP using VMware on my linux box for testing web pages in IE. I was considering getting a Mac, too... but only once I can afford Adobe Photoshop, because I run my business clean, without any unlicenced software. I since decided I don't need to get a mac though, or use Photoshop, yet. I use Bluefish as my main programming tool for PHP/HTML and Mono for other languages, not that I do much else these days. I use Inkscape and The Gimp as my main drawing and graphical tools. Favourite things: Tracy & the kids, my Cort SFX5 guitar, my digital camera, Google.
