I am SO slack
Fri 27th Jan '06
I realise this is my first blog for ages, sorry everyone and thanks to those people who actually noticed! Anyway I have had little to report on of an interesting nature, here's a basic run-down on what's been doing...
After christmas I went up to brissy (took the kids) so I could catch up with Tracy before she headed to W.A. for 3 weeks. The way things worked out I didnt see her for nearly 4 weeks so it was tough. After taking Tracy to the airport on the 27th we stayed up in brissy for a coupla days to visit the relos. The kids and I lived at Suzie/Matt/Lil's and Sue & Grahams and McCafe. McCafe turned out to be a top spot to spend a few hours, kids playing in the playground, air conditioned area with plasma screen and a Aus Vs Sth Africa cricket match on. Plus no worries for cheap nibblies and drinks! Dylan also loved playing the X-Box at uncle Grahams (it took ages to convince him it wasn't uncle Shannon... dunno why) and I had a little work to do while the kids had fun on the jumping castle under the watchful eye of Katie.
I got few moments of playing guitar with Chris Buhmann too, which was cool. I look forward to doing more of that.
Work wise things are hectic, tonnes of development work happening and some customers impatiently spruking ideas for more work to do... oh well, as long as they pay up that's good news.
I don't want to say too much on the subject of Rebecca, but i know some people are wondering whats going on, the short story is that while I have an agreement (in the short 6 monthish term) to keep the kids here in Grafton, Rebecca is making life pretty tough, refusing to let me see Isabelle on her birthday (second year in a row) and even refusing to let me see them on my time on the same occasion. Her boyfriend is still making threats of all sorts of things and basically things are pretty crap there.
On the other hand, I am enjoying some upsides as Tracy and I are getting quite comfy. We went ice skating this weekend which was a lot of fun, and it sure is nice to have someone to have intelligent conversation with. While I wouldn't say I missed this with Rebecca (she was never really into intelligent conversation, not really capable) I sure do find Tracy's opinions and aspirations refreshing. I know that sounds like I'm saying Rebecca's dumb, I'm not, and I never wanted her to be any different, it's just that Tracy does seem to stimulate my mind more and it's a welcome change! Plus she likes doing fun stuff like hiking, ice skating and photography, a real mixed bag to keep things interesting.
Dylan lost his first tooth, but his loss was Isabelle's gain. She retrieved it from the glass Dylan was keeping it in, and wanting to know what it felt like to lose a tooth, put it in her mouth! Predictably, she swallowed the tooth, much to the tooth fairy's dismay, but informed her mother it was in her legs, not really lost. I imagine it has found it's way into the toilet by now... but there's no need to tell her. Dylan got $2 from the tooth fairy at my house that night, which was nice, however I'd like to know why she only gave me 20c for mine at his age. I'll leave a letter asking for an explanation when the next tooth is due for collection. Might hit her up for back pay...
Isabelle is now 3, going on about 16 I think. Little miss independant! Charging along though and still my lil angel.
Well, that touches the surface a bit.
I hope everyone is well!
